You don't think we could hammer Arab agreement on that point, and shove it down Arafat's gullet?

Sure didn't work when Clinton tried it. Don't forget, the Arab states will always insist on nothing less than the best for their poor Palestinian brothers -- as long as it comes out of Israel's hide. Also, the Arabs have an infinite capacity for filtering all news through their own world view. The efforts made to forge a deal at Camp David and Taba have dropped down the memory hole in the Arab world and might as well never have happened.
