Anyone who did the WTC was driven by pure hatred and had absolutely nothing to loose. Much as I hate the ISI, Pakistan still thinks it is a country that can make it. something like complicity in the WTC would bring on the wrath of its major benefactor and the most powerful country on earth, drive India and USA to each other etc. so waay offbase.
Meanwhile the ISI had its own little colony in Afghanistan, upto 2 Billion in drug money, the ISI boys had a fiefdom with possibly more power than any fortune 500 CEO, heady masters of the universe stuff, why would they jeopardize this?
And much as everyone might hate the crowds in Peshawar chanting anti US slogans, I think most of it is abstract, they just need an enemy and 99% of them wouldn't stoop to such devilishness.
I can see them crossing the border into India and bombing bridges and such, but the US is soo remote. To really hate you need familiarity, I would think.
The ISI helping to shelter OBL is one thing, to be the mastermind of this is quite another.
BTW - even the US has no leverage on the Kasmir issue as far as India is concerned - totally non negotiable. If India is good enough for 120 million muslims, (richest indian is a muslim, nuclear guru is moslem etc.. movie stars are all khans ...what is is with 10 million or less. |
