>>National Human Genome Research Institute would try to address the scarcity of public proteomics databases by issuing a request for proposals within the next month to fund large protein database projects. Collins told GenomeWeb NHGRI was looking to fund “one large database” already in existence<<

AxCell/Informax
Hybrigenics
Large Scale Biology
Compugen
Incyte/Oxford Glyco
GeneFormatics
Myriad/Hitachi/Oracle
LumiCyte

There must be others that aren't coming to mind at this late hour. Could that wording be taken to mean that several vendors could provide chunks to be melded into one? Whatever, the above are some players with -- or developing -- big proteomic databases that aren't public/free. Not sure how serious some are, and some aren't publicly traded.

Cheers, Tuck
