Dear ET: I dont wish to get into an arguement here, but I am old enough to have actually been alive when the partition took place and all through the early years was aware of some of the things going on there. So, with that background, I just wish to say that your post is not entirely correct. Jews in fact did live in Palestine prior to and during the Partition. It is my understanding that any LAND acquired by Jews was in fact paid for. At the time the whole area was a dump and of little value to anyone, jew or arab. The immigrants from countries such as Russia and Germany with the financial support mainly of American Jews rebuilt the land into what it is today. A lot of blood, sweat and tears was involved. I am not actually taking sides here, just wanted to set the record a little straighter. JDN
