Motorola touting its new CDMA user interface. Wonder what that is about? Mentioned approval of CDMA 1x phones in Korea and Latin America. Most of the thunder was for GPRS though. Talked about how infrastructure isn't always there to use the phones but that the phones will be there when it is. Hey - I thought this was supposed to happen with 1x? "Semiconductor inventory worked off and expect rebound in 1 to 2 quarters" with rise in demand from government and security issues. Book to bill over 1 due to orders for broadband and wirelss. No specifics on negotiations with partners and alliances. Embedded 2.5 and 3g solutions offered to other firms to reduce entry barriers for others. First mentioned product is for GSM/GPRS. The best part of the call is that the new CEO, Breen, who comes from General Instruments sounds like Belushi in the movie "The Blues Brothers". "We got a full tank of gas, cigarettes, sunglasses (it's nighttime), we are ready to drive to Chicago" (So what if there are 500 cop cars behind them.)
