Bruce, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, China has been the wild card when it comes to supply and demand of various metals. In respect to silver, China has been dumping "off-spec" silver into the market for quite sometime. "Off-spec" is great for silverware but not much else - unfortunately it dictates the going price of all silver.

As for the digital camera argument, it doesn't hold much importance to me... Kodak threw itself at what it thought was the high-end, and only found that the competition is even stiffer -- with much higher r&d costs.

They're getting killed at both ends...
