Allan, thanks for responding. If you were asking me about Directpc I don't know anything about it. There is a local person who installs these things but I'm not sure what he knows etc.. I will be talking with him again probably. Have you ever used DSL? Any comparison re cable vs. DSL? I have heard cable is better but don't know. Neither is readily available up here as far as I know but I really don't as I'm just starting to check into this. Ironically I know there is a local phone company in western Maine that has been offering DSL for over a year. Verizon, on the other hand does not seem to in an adjacent area. Not positive about that but that is my impression. Very frustrating if true. David
