Regardless of how some want to spin this the Secret Service's job is to protect their charge. There was so much bad information as to what was going on in the first hours after the attack that the service felt that Air Force 1 and the White House were targets. Their job was to keep President Bush away from harm and thus DC.

The President's focus is ensuring that our government can continue to operate. This isn't just about Bush but about our government in total. During an obvious attack it would be insanity to suggest that the entire line of succession be in the same place (White House). Ensuring that we have an operating government is more important in those first few hours then having my feelings soothed by a statement by the President or anyone else.

I have seen that piece off and on since the day of the attack and actually find it to be one more politically motivated hack job. In all actuality it pisses me off.

I am directing that at the piece by the way and not you Lost:)
