I'm assuming you meant to say,

I want to sell it now while the premium is higher.

I wouldn't be too confident that Cisco will dip after earnings. They have already confirmed that they will meet expectations, which leave the possibility open that they will beat them. You need to create a situation that will be acceptable no matter what happens. So if you would be happy selling your csco stock for 17.95, writing the Nov17.5s would be a reasonable action.
