wow. I've got to say that I didn't expect this from you and if I could give you a round of cyber-applause, I would. About the Donkey's Inn thread: Yep I think you went too far, veering into derision of other American citizens who are grieving just like you and I. I lost it in my post to you, partly because I know you to be very bright, to be better than that. You may never get an "apology accepted" from Mephisto, but you certainly get one from me. As far as being an apologist or a defender, Mrs. Peel has always been very capable of defending herself. About the Taliban's being upset about the killing of innocents, my opinion may surprise you, but as long as the US does not expressly target innocents, I see those deaths as sadly unfortunate fallout in a far into which we were dragged. And I wouldn't put it past the Taliban to "plant" civilians inside targets, either. What does suit you? Posts like the one to which I'm responding. Honest dialog about the confusing and horrific time we're in. I'll do my best to meet you halfway. :)
