This is the lifeboat analogy. I actually subscribe to that. I think that unchecked immigration can cause us to sink to 3rd World status. I don't want that. However, Indian engineers and scientists don't bother me.

I would like to export some slack-jawed yokels, but no one wants them. And, I can't think of a way to get them to leave voluntarily. That is the down-side of a "free country". The funny thing is that it is frequently the most boorish and uneducated people that seem to want to shut the gates without regard to who is at the gate. They don't want to simply raise the bar, which I think is legitimate.
