If LeRoy is black, then LeRoy has not been given opportunity because of visible differences between himself and others. A bath, education and elocution lessons could fix Cletus so that no one would ever know where he came from. All are available for free in this country, but rejected by some Cletuses (Cleti?). No, I'd rather elevate everyone, but if someone arrives elevated, why should I turn them away?
