It appears to me that you are fascinated by X, who is indeed an interesting and very bright person (and a heck of a friend), but it strikes me that you're approaching her all wrong. You see, she loves wordplay, has a rather Dali-esque sense of humor, adores children. Somehow your posts seem to piss her off rather than work to endear you to her.
And then there's Rambi, probably the only person on SI who is universally loved. No shit. Addressing your airline and travel agent issues to her at a time of personal stress in her family's life was just not cool. She's not the enemy. The nice thing about Rambi is that if you're nice to her, she'll forgive you and be your friend, which is worth it.
And me? I'm a loyal friend. I didn't like seeing how you've been treating these two women, thought your allusions to me as a witch were over the top and just plain silly. I'm smart and playful, but don't suffer fools or assholes well, particularly now. I think you and I have a chance of reaching a personal detente, if you'll lighten up a bit. |
