I think the 98% howl in response to the 2% who would have no guns yet seem to want to set the agenda. My own sense is there is a middleground which includes more severe penalties and real enforcement of violent criminals. And some manner of background checking that does not infridge, yet keeps whackjobs from owning guns. So much crime breaks down along racial; lines but the issue is so badly demagauged taht there are never any real solutions coming out. Meanwhile the good citizens in balck and hispanic communities don't go out at night. It's F-'d up. Americans should not have to live that way.
