OT~~ Pat Thanks-- Mom is still around. Dad passed away at work when she was 44. She had only 1 left at home then.. Agree-- leaving young children is a bitch. soc sec can only help-- and hardly that near NYC. I'd bet the co insurance was a decent amount,, and hopefully all had a private policy or 2. Rumor has it NYC emer services have a $1MM policy if killed in line of duty. Hard to believe that is true. Still,, it would take many MM$ to replace each of those lost-- just ask the families.
