I would want the best people there. Period.

In the several years prior to the first Space Shuttle launch I attended periodic conferences that brought together all the players from NASA, DoD and industry. These were huge week-long affairs. The focus was on the job and it was intense. No one, to my knowledge, was counting the color of noses.

My son's first degree from UCLA was in the physical sciences. There were several thousand at the graduation ceremony. You might have thought you took a wrong turn and ended up in Hong Kong. Not a problem for me. I was ever so pleased my guy was smart enough and hard-working enough to be among the best.
