Niceguy, Re: "What difference does it make if they sell 20mil for the year a quarter later ?"

Indicates that even INTC management can be on some other planet when it comes to their estimates and, more importantly, indicates that P4 sales are an uphill push contrary to hype/expectations.

You really are something else. I'd like to tell you exactly what something else is, but in accordance with the rules of the forum, let me just show you what AMD's quotes from Q3 2000 CC were.

"Amd expects chips prices to firm up.. but AMD expects duron prices to have to decrease but AMD will not discount their duron processors to hide lack of UMA chipsets.. AMD will not compete with Duron in 399 or 499 $ systems."

"Duron can reach clock speeds equal to Tbirds. As gate dimensions are driven down technology is introduced in Tbirds first.. 900 Mhz Durons will be provided by year end and 1Ghz Q1 of 2001"

"25-30% semiconductor growth possible next year.."

"In 2001 , my expectations, growth will be in high teens.. "

"Outlook is good to grow substantially and earnings per share WILL GROW AS FAST AS REVENUES GROW!"

"I don't forsee management selling at 9 x earnings, this is an excellent buying opportunity."

"People will begin to see that AMD is an incredible value"

"Realities are, where we are in the cycle ... huge growth next year, maybe 25-30%. Cycle is not on the back half here. People with the most desirable products the most successful. Very strong demand for AMD Flash, 2001 will be extremely strong, hard-pressed to meet demand."

"we expect to introduce both the Palomino and the Morgan in First Quarter"

"To put this in perspective, in January, when we announced our results ... people asked if we're comfortable with a $5 share in earnings ... we said yes ... we're still comfortable with the post-split $2.50."

ROFLMAO.

As I read this thing, I couldn't help but laugh at all the mispredictions AMD made about this year, and laugh even harder at how you're so caught up about Intel releasing 20M Pentium 4 CPUs. If "INTC management can be on some other planet", then AMD management must not be of this Universe.

Check it out yourself, daydreamer.
