Oof! I didn't get to that response. LOL, and it could apply just as well to today, from another angle... Although I think in satirising Kipling, he misses the wry satire on the imperial viewpoint already there. Maybe it's juts my interpretation, but the original seems less than enamoured of both empire, and of those defending imperialism with the arguments he seems to portray...
