Yes, one has to be diplomatic with the precious metal crowd.

Perhaps other uses can be found for their gold. They could use their stash for fillings, I suppose. They could create gold charms and sell them at craft shows. Maybe they could use some of their hoard for superconductors.

As for gold stocks, I really don't know. I don't see an immediate use for them. I suppose the stock certificates, if they have them, could be auctioned off on eBay.
