No Indication of Bin Laden Capture, Pentagon Says
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon (news - web sites) has no indication that Saudi-born fugitive Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) has been captured in Afghanistan (news - web sites), Defense Department spokeswoman Victoria Clarke said on Thursday.

``I have no indication of that,'' Clarke told reporters, adding that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had received no such indication in his morning briefing with the commander responsible for U.S. forces attacking targets in Afghanistan.

Clarke spoke in response to questions about rumors in financial markets that bin Laden might have been captured. The United States has accused the Saudi-born fugitive of masterminding the Sept. 11 attacks on America.
