Interesting!
In Italy, Moslems have been buying abandoned decrepit/dilapidated church buildings in recent years and refurbishing them into mosques. And this, in combination with a significant number Westerners embracing Islam have got the Roman Catholic Church and lots of Italians very concerned.
According to some of my Muslim friends, God (Allah) sent Mohammed as his last prophet because the Christians,
in consequence of their infighting and squabbling over diverse interpretations of the Bible which incidentally was written by several people (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John etc, & et al) and arbitrarily put together by a synod of bishops in 325 AD at Nicae,
had sort of "screwed up" Jesus' original message.
In order to obviate diverse interpretations, the Muslims' Holy Book, the Qu'ran, was written by Mohammed and no one else: he reportedly wrote down every word dictated to him by Allah's angel, Gabriel (the same Gabriel of the Bible).
In the Qu'ran there are numerous mention of Biblical characters, e.g., Abraham; Musa = Moses; Daoud = David; Isa = Jesus and so on, and also similar accounts of events associated with them. But Jesus is merely regarded as a prophet.
Yet any common relationship is seemingly ignored, and ever since the 6th century, the clash between Christendom and the Islamic world has never ceased.
BTW, the DNA of Arabs and Jews are practically identical, attesting to their historical common origin from Abraham. (Jews and Arabs are Semites or Semitic peoples)
Isn't it an irony that brothers are locked in eternal mortal combat? |
