Look at these dates:

$1000 of AMD stock when Athlon introduced (6/23/99) is worth about $1100 now.

$1000 of Intel stock when Pentium 4 introduced (10/20/00) is worth about $640 now.

I'd say that anyone can select intervals where one competitor outperforms another. Another thing, the public does not know when these insiders sell (it not made public until long after the event). The above is public knowledge (its in their respective press releases). P4 has been a disaster for Intel on this basis, as well as many others. OTOH, Athlon has been good for AMD.
