Evidently you must have flunked geometry or have a hard time looking at a globe and never grew up in a family or near one. You fail to check the environment or the basis before making blanket statements. There are environments where things are different. In this you are not alone. Many people fail to look at the basis of things. 2% of one thing and 2% of another do not add to 4% of a third in many cases. Yet many people fall into that trap all of the time. It is not logical to forget looking at the basis of things. Its these assumptions that lead many astray.

And if you think that is not applicable to engineering, then why did the Mars Polar Lander go astray? Why Intel did introduce the 0.18u 1.13G P3s? Or Hubble need corrective optics? Yes, its annoying, but having a roof cave in on top of you due to rain ponding on it (an auditorium collapsed (in Kansas IIRC) due to insufficient and wrongly placed roof drains) is a far worse fate.
