Re: Polaroid--There's more to it than an outmoded technology. This company for years was badly managed by a group of executives whose principal objective was to entrench themselves in the company, artificially buttressing the stock price by pouring money into Polaroid shares for the employee retirement plan.

The first inkling I had that something was very wrong was the way they handled the patent infringement suit against Kodak. No need for details on this thread, but Polaroid, because of its poor quality management, failed to capitalize on its brand name as it moved half-heartedly into digital imaging. At the same time, they started making low quality, conventional instant cameras for a very limited market, instead of trying to achieve the quality in digital imaging that they had become recognized for in their older instant cameras and films. Edwin Land must be turning in his grave.
