It's much better to gain in market share even if you lose money for a few quarters. Otherwise, Intel would succeed in convincing the partners that AMD relies upon from developing new products for AMD chips. Sometimes you just have to take the punches that are thrown at you knowing that if you hang on your opponent will start to tire and in the long run you'll be in a stronger position.
