I think we've seen quite a few white rulers in South Africa. But what country in Africa has a country which was founded on the premise that taxation without representation is wrong? I think some of us have been taxed and unrepresented for quite a long time.

Your personal experiences are anecdotal whether they took place on the hiring committee or not.. Perhaps you are not familiar with the meaning of the word. Unless you have subjected your personal experiences on the hiring committee to rigorous scientific analysis, they are anecdotes. I am surprised a professor wouldn't know that, even one from the business department. It isn't elitist to know what words mean. It might be elitist to rub it in that people don't know what words mean- but I don't have a problem with elitists.
