Perhaps you are not familiar with the meaning of the word.
That always possible, X. There are an awful lot of words. So I looked that one up in Websters:
anecdote: a short, often oral, interesting or humorous account of a real or fictional incident
Would you say that definition would describe my explaining to you how our committee conducted our deliberations and the extent to which race was a factor in those deliberations?
Maybe if we both look we could find a better word.
That aside, I did mean to respond to your comment that we don't live in the same world. The only world I live in is the real world. I feel good about that world. I have lived a long life and I have seen that world grow better and better through all of those years. That perception has led me to a teleological view of the world. I believe that there is a design and purpose to our existence, and that the natural course of all human events is forward and upward. Thus, while I am aware of warts on my world, present and historical, I don't wallow in bitterness of despair over them. I have faith for humankind that the tomorrows will always be better than the todays. That makes me a happy person.
You are clearly a highly educated and intelligent person, X, and you feel deeply. I hope that however you see your world, it is a vision that has brought you happiness, also.
I wish you the best.
