Those are two big players in mining. For them to get out of base metals trading is a watershed event. It reminds of the famous "Death of Equities" magazine (is was Newsweek as I recall?) cover in the early 80's just before the greatest bull market ever.

Note the long, illustrious two century history of N.M. Rothschild in so called "old economy" activities. Hit "key dates":
