Nice spin job. You took some time with those comebacks, my friend.

Fact is, virtually all of the additional wealth created by American workers working longer hours in the '90s was captured in corporate profits and by corporate executive suites, which so excessively rewarded themselves over the decade that even business-friendly publications like Business Week and the Wall Street Journal began describing CEO compensation as "out of control."

Back to longer hours: The average American worker worked 1942 hours in 1990 and 1978 hours in 2000. That's a difference of nearly one work week a year.

And pleeeeeeeeeeeese ... don't compare CEOs to baseball players. That is not a valid analogy. And you know it.

And speaking of baseball ... I was born a Cardinal fan. I will die a Cardinal fan. Stan Musial was the greatest baseball player who ever lived.
