The bill did pass with the i-gaming provision in tact.

Exclusive report from the House of Representatives

Shrink...
Here is what I picked up today...
the net gambling language was approved as part of the Financial Anti-Terrorism bill by the Financial Services Committee today (per my previous message). There was an attempt to remove it from the bill, and although there was a good deal of support for doing so, that effort was defeated.

Credit card companies in particular are not pleased with the language, and hope that it will be dealt with at some future point. There is a general "feeling," for lack of better words, that although this may pass the House initially, there is a strong likelihood it will be removed by the Senate and not be in any final bill that is sent to the President. I've heard that Financial Services Chairman Mike Oxley, although he voted against removing the language in committee today, really is not enamored of it, he just wanted to keep the process moving with the quiet understanding that this can be taken care of later. We'll see...I've worked in the House of Representatives for nearly 2 decades and know that the only thing certain 'round here is that NOTHING is certain.

I do not know when the bill will be brought before the House, but it will not be tomorrow (Friday). Do not be confused by ANOTHER anti terrorist bill that will be considered tomorrow--it is not the same bill and has nothing to do with net gambling.
