Does this answer your question?
Yes, very well. Excellent answer.
There's one possible bone of contention, still - and I suspect you see it. ...unruly, boisterous, and disrespectful conduct will not be tolerated ...
That's fine - especially the unruly and boisterous parts, those are reasonably objective. But 'disrespectful': I agree with this also, it's required, but it's somewhat woolier in meaning. My best judgement there would be that it means 'not respecting the overall tone or purpose of the forum', or 'impolite or unfriendly behaviour towards others' - both offences, of course, made worse if directed at the one who's set the tone for the thread... i.e., the moderator.
IMO you'd be quite right to warn, then withdraw all welcome from, some visitor (here or IRL) who appeared and rapidly showed active, intended and frequent disrespect; and evinced contempt for both the host and the purpose of the host's gathering. Would you agree?
Then, if the meeting has a named list of invitees on the door and a stated agenda, and expressly explains that the public are not welcome, I'd say that bursting in anyway and voicing your own concerns is automatically disrespectful (if not unruly). Even if it's politely done, it won't be welcome.
I suspect you understand my point. Now I'd better go before being considered disrespectful... |
