Because the Palestinian and Arab propaganda has been better than the Israeli.

Arabs used their influence and oil wealth to gain sympathy from undeveloped nations, holding crucial UN votes.

Again, everyone in the UN chastised Israel for defending itself and occupying territory which was being used as based from which to attack them..

But no said a word about Jordan annexing the West Bank in the first place, or when the Arabs forced the Lebanonese to accept the PLO on their home soil, a result that created one of the bloodiest civil wars in the region.
