that is just it... not really a firing mechanism for nukes
not as we imagine it

to set off a nuke, you must first have a specific detonation
its focal point must be exactly in a certain spot
a chain reaction is set off

not at all like a trigger mechanism with spark and explosion
more like a complex domino system of triggers

nuke fuel would melt in most explosions
