Studies have shown that children with a primary language other than English end up better educated if BOTH languages are nurtured

Are you aware of any data specifically about the group I was talking about--kids whose primary language is English and who learn a second language? I have always been under the impression that additional language training is beneficial to both English skills and general intellectual development that I no longer recall why. I thought it was a given.
