The implication that there is a significant link between most people who believe something is absolutely right or wrong and those who would commit such an atrocity is both insulting and illogical.

There was no such link other than in the fact. It happened. PERIOD. Not much of a link--not intended as a "link".

I think billions or at the very least hundreds of millions of people would consider such attacks an absolute moral wrong.

I would think that (at least) millions consider them a moral right. I don't consider any killing to procure 72 virgins and 28 young boys, and fresh water and fruit and rivers of wine--wine that gets you drunk but not intoxicated, as morally right. But then I am not a f---ed up absolutist...not that all absolutists are f---ed up, mind you.
