Wow, and we just had a coyote in our back yard. We have seen it a few times lately. Rumor mill has it that the coyote is snacking on careless cats. He/she was about 40 yards from the back of the house looking at me as I was going in. Didn't seem to have a care in the world. Then my dog went out to protect her territory. The coyote wasn't too concerned (as my dog is a cream puff), but didn't argue about it. Very cool looking thing, though, self-possessed and comfortable with city-dwellers. Reminds me of Milagro Bean Field War animal characters and lore.
