BTW...they have the FL Turnpike shut down right now...in WPB...someone put something in a banks (Bank Atlantic)safety deposit box that smelled and made people sick. They are sending in a Bio team.
Here in NYC, we have many of these alarms, bomb threads etc. resulting in evacuations of buildings, lockdown (nobody can go in and out). There are so many that they don't even get reported on the news. I know it because our employees go to various office buildings in NYC, and we get several calls per from them about not being able to get in, or getting stuck inside.
Many times it turns out to be nothing, other times there is a cause for some alarm (NBC, NY Times), but it is affecting people. People are fearful, shaky. This is what the terrorists want to achieve, and they are succeeding.
I think Bush (as a president) and Giulliani here in NYC have been handling things superbly, by being reassuring (but realistic), but not lying to people just to make them feel a false sense of security, like Health Secretary Tommy Thompson who looks like an idiot at this point.
