Well, King...

(May I call you King? Or is it Mr. David?)

My understanding is that Checkfree generally handles 100 percent of the billpay business for its customer banks, with some notable exceptions. They handle only a tiny portion of Citibank's billpay (those customers who bank with Citi through Quicken rather than through Citi's proprietary software)and for that reason don't count Citi among their "major bank" customers. I think they also have roughly half of Bank of America's business -- the non-California customers, if memory serves. Those are the only exceptions I can recall.

Also, I think the contracts are generally for three years, if I'm correctly recalling some of Checkfree's recent press releases.

For more authoritative answers I suggest you contact Matt Lewis, CKFR's head of investor relations. He is quite good about responding to individuals by email. His address: Matt.Lewis@atl.checkfree.com

Also, there have been some good discussions of the issue of CKFR's market penetration in this thread and in the CKFR thread on AOL's Motley Fool message boards. I've seen good posts from bankers and from electronic commerce professionals who follow this stuff for a living. I also posted on Motley Fool a reply I received from Lewis a few weeks ago that covered some of these points.

Hope this helps. CKFR up again on good volume today.
