The real advantage of the Internet is that there are powerful search engines that allow quick synopses of huge volumes of data. This is something that printed material just can't provide. While some may argue that the facile nature of the Internet prevents it from conveying real depth, I'd counter that it isn't so much the volume of the material in knowledge transfer as much as it is the effectiveness of the transfer.

Three long pages with no synopsis defeats the point of communication and starts to look like obfuscation and filibuster. Detail is fine when appropriate.
