Men tend to be more physically courageous than women. And I don't believe the need for than will disappear.
Actually, after I posted that I realized it contradicted something I said to E: that there was no difference. We were talking about the WTC disaster and I pointed out that several women EMTs, police and firefighters had been among those who had gone into those towers to get people out and had been killed. (One female EMT was pulled from the rubble alive.)

Clarification: Men tend to be more courageous in situations which require violence- -such as taking down a hijacker or fighting a war. And that, I beleive, is testosterone-based, and is not going to change because of life experience.

And I understand that the argument can be made that if men didn't have that propensity, it wouldn't be necessary.
Problems: to do without it, the whole planet has to change at once. And that's VERY unlikely.

And we didn't get to be the topdog species by being nice guys.
