You'd best read "Clash of Civilizations" that Whitepine posted yesterday.

Our constitution is the best for our civilization. To say that it will work for other cultures with different sets of moral and cultural standards is elitist at best.

It can be argued that sub-Saharan African nations were better off under British colonialism. Since gaining independence, its been all downhill by pretty much any benchmark I can think of.

Some of the former communist nations of eastern Europe have made nice progress toward democracy, but other nations (i.e. Russia) have become a cesspool of organized crime, prostitution, nukes for dollars, etc.).

Why are some cultures successful under a constitutional democracy, but others are better off with the hand-holding of big brother??
