I dunno about the Stockholm Syndrome, but maybe I underestimate how some folks feel. I mean, I feel there is a little more visible risk added to our lives, but I was well aware of this risk at the origination of OPEC. I certainly felt more 'hostage' to the Cold War MAD philosophies and hundreds of millions of Chinese or Russian soldiers, than I feel towards, perhaps 100,000 extremists teetering on the edge of being annihilated by most of the civilized world.

I disagree with that part, but with the psychologic atavist theory, I concur, sadly and grudgingly.

I merely try to put myself (in my imagination)on the airplane with the frightened children passengers of those hijacked planes to recognize that this man has not an ounce of humanity in him. When I hear that a few women are making comments to the contrary, I can only conclude that they have led very sheltered lives full of fantasy.
