As You Point Out The "Reasons" For The Terrorist Initiative Against The United States Are Complex

If one can even assign reasons to insanity.

But the issue is not about the reasons for terrorism but how they can be stopped.

My first point is that they could be stopped were the United States to agree to stop supporting Israel.

My second is there is much less of a consensus among the American people concerning the necessity of supporting Israel than there is concerning the necessity of combating insane religious zealots intent on the destruction of this country.

The realization that an alternative exists to exposing the country to the ravages of terrorism and the costs of having to combat it is going to unleash a very divisive national debate about which feeling are very strong.

My point in raising this issue here is not to suggest a solution to the problem, nor to discuss politics. It is only to point out that the current situation holds far more political and economic uncertainty for the United States and a "mere" war on terrorism. Something that some investors may want to consider.
