VERSAR Provides Mailroom Bioterrorism Services to Fortune 500 Firm and Major

SPRINGFIELD, Va., Oct 15, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- VERSAR, INC. (Amex:
VSR) announced today that the Company has responded to a confidential "Fortune
500" firm's concern about the risk of bioterrorism associated with mailroom
operations. The consulting effort involves recommendations for protective
strategies for bulk mail handling and other facilities. Advice on items such as
employee training/education, personal protection equipment, sampling and
monitoring technologies, and risk mitigation strategies was provided to the
Customer. VERSAR also provided a quick-response biological sampling and
assessment of mail rooms and other facilities for a major publishing firm.
VERSAR expects to continue to grow this segment of the homeland defense services
marketplace as more companies and organizations become targets of chemical and
biological threats.

chemical and biological warfare expertise to these confidential customers,
