My opinion is that China Telecom (China's largest wireline operator) will be given a license in a few months after it is clear that UNICOM's CDMA network works well and will build the mother of all CDMA2000 networks. It will SIMPLY be HUGE, GIGANTIC and will support 1X and 1XEV. At that point GPRS will be dead except in Europe and a those poor fools that NOK has gotten into the GPRS business. CDMA/GSM Radio One ASICS will allow GSM equipment to complete its remaining economic life in countries where CDMA is head to head with GSM.
