seems to me that Omnitracs type device should be in all airplanes - commercial and private -- with continuous cockpit voice recording and aircraft data recording uplinked into G* and thence into storage - presto - no reason to look for recorders at crash sites - and you have more than the last half-hour of information -- also will give you aircraft location within 100 meters at all times - or will the pilot's union try to kill the idea -- also, how about ability to cut off controls and fly the plane from the ground, bringing it to a secure [ military ?? ] location - JMHO --
