But then how does the method you currently practice fare under such tests?

I have made no secret that I don't yet have a tool, so this is a non-question. This has nothing to do with the question of how well any proposed tool does.

toss these up as some academic froth for others to chew on. Which makes them hypothetical tests. And less tested by practice than the methods that have been offered up to you... hmmm.

I don't get where you are coming from here. Think of me as a guy who walks into a store or show to buy some software and there are several people standing around each offering their software as the best thing available. All I am asking is that the software undergo some tests to demonstrate its value before I start to use it. I'm not trying to advocate for or against any one option here ... just trying to get some data on which to form an opinion.

Which leads me to note that this hypothetical test method of yours has neither succeeded in identifying a successful valuation method nor discrediting an unsuccessful valuation method.

Given that no one seems to have tried testing their method by any means other than making some decisions and seeing how much money they have left at the end, is it surprising that something which hasn't been tried hasn't demonstrated anything yet?

Which might be on how valuation methodologies apply specificly to GGamers.

I heartily agree that we face some special issues here ... hence my problem with looking much at something that requires averaging 10 prior years of results. But, as we have this discussion about special issues, how are we going to decide if method A is better than method B? Pure intuition? What is your proposal for an alternate test and evaluation approach?
