I see what you're saying.

The problem here is the ME has most of the easily producible oil. (Approx $3/bbl to produce...nice mark-up, eh?) Since oil is the life blood of the world....the oil will flow, whether Saudi Arabia exists or not.

I think China has great problems ahead, and whether they can capitalize on their buildout before the whole shithouse goes up in flames, I don't know. Just the re-settlement of 250 million people as the Three Gorges dam is completed will be a huge financial drain. People are losing centuries of development to be moved to places with nothing.

I have a question for the thread....will you be willing to allow off-shore oil drilling off the coasts of California and Florida to strengthen our self-sufficiency.
