I forgot to comment on this one

U.S. high-tech attacks on one of the poorest countries in the world are viewed here as arrogant and insensitive.

``The message appears to be 'see how great our toys are, watch them smash things to smithereens' -- it seems we have learned nothing in 10 years,'' the Western analyst said.

A gee, darnit, how insensitive of us to use our technologically superior weapons to avoid killing people while still taking out military targets. And dammit, we should have been more sensitive to the terrorists needs with the WTC too. Heck, we should have made sure that their use of the technologically inferior weapons of commercial airliners was more effective by not allowing people to exit the buildings.

I think that the US arrogance thing is getting a bit tired too. Using sophisticated weapons against the supporters of terrorism isn't about arrogance. It is about winning. I don't think that any of us really relishes a full on war. But if they are going to give us no other choice, we are going to make it decisive and we are going to leave an impression. Part of that impression is "if you want to fuck with us, we can bring a bigger stick to the party and we will most definitely thump you on the head with it". That ain't arrogance, that is just good ole common sense.
