By: Sports Information
Date: October 15, 2001

Penn State's Big Ten home game with Ohio State on Saturday, October 27 will kickoff at 12:10 p.m. ET in Beaver Stadium.

The game will be televised by ESPN or ESPN2, with a determination to be made by October 22 on which network will carry the clash between the border rivals.

The telecast of the Ohio State game is the sixth announced TV appearance of the season for the Nittany Lions, who have appeared on television 84 times in their last 85 games, including the last 50 contests.

ESPN previously televised Penn State's contest at Iowa. ABC Sports has televised Penn State's games with Miami, Wisconsin and Michigan and will air Saturday's clash at Northwestern at 2:30 p.m. CT/3:30 p.m. ET.

Penn State leads the series with Ohio State, 9-7, and is 3-1 vs. the Buckeyes at home since starting Big Ten competition in 1993.

Other Penn State contests may be selected by the networks under the six and 12-day provisions of their contracts with the Big Ten.

Fans attending Saturday's Penn State at Northwestern football game can listen to the Penn State Sports Network broadcast at 89.5 FM inside Ryan Field in Evanston, Ill.

The broadcast will begin at 2:00 p.m. CT/3:00 p.m. ET with the Joe Paterno Pregame show and include the play-by-play action and analysis by Steve Jones and Jack Ham, as well a brief post-game show.

The Penn State-Northwestern clash will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT and be televised by ABC to a regional audience.

This service is expected to be available at all of Penn State's away games this season, although the frequency likely will change for each game.
